8.10pm: I’m in the car with my sidekick and photographer Judi, and we are driving into the pitch-black car park. This tall large building looms over us and the only sign of life is a single light coming through one of the downstairs doors.
‘I think we might be just in time for last orders,’ Judi says as she pulls on the handbrake.
‘You might recognise some of the timbers in here – they’re nearly as old as you,’ I joke – but I can’t take my eyes off the former pub in front of us. There’s something about this place…
