Renowned for blending a contemporary aesthetic with a “quintessentially English layered style”, Gavin lives with his partner Boz Gagovski in a Victorian-era home in Stockwell, south London, that he revived through his use of colour, pattern and signature decorative touches.
What does home mean to you?
Gavin: “A crackling fire with the dogs. I love fires – I have them in all my houses. I love keeping them going and the smell of them. All you need in a house is a fireplace and garden … A gas fire wouldn’t do anything for you – it would be a dull evening.”
How would you describe your aesthetic?
“A bit of Bloomsbury, a bit of English, eclectic. I think it’s quite classic. I like charm and fun, a bit of wit. I love the wall sconces above the fireplaces – I use them in
