Gabriel Gbadamosi

Gabriel Gbadamosi is a novelist, poet, playwright and essayist. How does he fit everything in?

‘I’m a switcher. I like using different forms of writing,’ he says. ‘The light goes off on one idea but on in another. Following the scent of your own creative excitement is part of the doggedness of a writer. It’s how to keep going if you’re me. I struggled with my inner poet, but he was stronger than me, so had to stay (on a leash) with his vow of poverty. novel was an outcome of the conversations and relationships I keep up with the communities in which I became a writer; I wrote to tell our stories and weave our voices into a larger whole.
