Books for (A NEW) life
I read Louise Hay’s pioneering self-help book How to Heal Your Life in January 2019 and I vow to read it again every January. It’s wonderfully shocking and memorable, and Hay’s straight-talking tone would persuade anyone to positively affirm their way through the first month of each year. In fact, her writer’s voice is healing in itself. Come Blue Monday, the third Monday in January (said to be the most depressing day of the year, although that may just be a clever PR campaign to sell wellbeing products) we need any inspiration we can get to perk us up. The good news is that it looks like the publishing market is as robust and far-reaching as it ever was pre-pandemic, so expect to see some exciting debut names on this wisdom wishlist.
