ARMED ROBBERY

A LAWYER defending a man accused of burglary tried a creative defence. “Your honour,” he said, “my client’s arm was merely inserted through the window and a few trifling articles were then removed. I fail to see how you can punish the whole individual for an offence committed by his limb.”

“Very well, we’ll use your logic,” the judge replied. “I sentence the defendant’s arm to one year’s imprisonment. He can choose to accompany it, or not.”
