KYLE WEBSTER

2015 WAS THE YEAR I DECIDED TO PACK ALL MY STUFF UP INTO MY VAN AND TRAILER. I DROVE ACROSS THE COUNTRY WITH A FRIEND AND WITHIN A FEW DAYS I HAD OFFICIALLY MOVED TO NSW.

So, Kyle, let’s try and start this off professionally, which will be hard for both of us. I know your whole back story, but not many fans know the Kyle without a helmet on. Can you give us an insight of how and where it all started?

I was originally born in South Africa, where my dad got me into racing when I was four years old on a PW50. I lived in South Africa up until I was six, then we moved to England until I was 11. In England I rode 50s and 65s for a few years, and I also played a little bit of rugby for a brief moment before moving to Australia. However, I am not the most coordinated person in ball sports so that career ended quickly. I moved to Perth at the end of 2006, where I started up racing again at the beginning of 2007 on YZ85. In 2008, I got a spot on the YJR team which is still run by Peter Strickland and raced my first Junior Nationals at Wanneroo in Western Australia on a small-wheel 85. I also managed to get the win!
