By his own admission, Alex Russell is living the dream. The NIDA graduate, who grew up in Rockhampton, Queensland – where his family still lives – has spent the last five years enjoying the one thing all actors in Los Angeles aspire to: job security.
Since landing the role of Jim Street in cop show reboot S.W.A.T. in 2017, Russell’s star has been steadily on the rise. In his downtime from shooting the high-intensity series, he juggles film roles, most recently in the AACTA-nominated Under My Skin, a passion project he also produced. He also ticked off an item that’s long been on his wish list after hustling for it to happen: this season of S.W.A.T., Russell directed the eighth episode, titled Safe House.
