The Sands of TREGANLLAW

England, 1497. Henry VII, the first Tudor king, reigns, having vanquished Richard III, the last monarch of the House of York, at the Battle of Bosworth in 1485.

A young man calling himself Richard, Duke of York has spent years striving for recognition as the true heir of York, claiming to be one of the Princes in the Tower, who were thought to have been murdered on the orders of the late King Richard, their uncle. Their sister, Elizabeth, is now Henry VII’s queen.

Richard has now landed in Cornwall, determined to raise an army and press his claim to the English throne. He has left behind his pregnant Scottish wife, Katherine, in the fortress of St Michael’s Mount…
