Count Ferrari’s regal residence was a solid half hour walk according to the conscientious concierge at Noella’s hotel. Apparently it would be a mucky, muddy trudge through the Paris streets, heading south from the Hôtel Continental, and he strongly advised the young reporter to avoid the journey on foot due to the filthy pavements, although he confessed it was a simple and direct route down the Rue Royale and across the Seine.
