Dear Mum,

Gossiping over a cup of tea, at our regular café trip every Friday, we’d put the world to right.

Wearing your favourite blue top with the flowers, leather trousers, and having your hair spiked to extreme heights, your red lipstick would leave a stain on the mug.

After we finished our drinks, we’d head to the nearest supermarket to bundle plenty of delicious snacks into the trolly.

As you turned to look at the aisle, I’d sneak chocolate and sweets in without you knowing.

‘What is this doing here?’ you’d laugh, holding a bar of Cadbury’s Caramel in your hand, alongside tub after tub of ice cream.

You’d pretend like you were mad at first but you weren’t really.

Just don’t tell your dad,’ you’d whisper, snapping another chunk of chocolate into your mouth.
