What you say with your body

IT MIGHT sound strange, but did you know we can communicate without saying a single word? We might not even be aware of it, but we’re continuously using wordless communication. Our facial expressions, gestures and posture can tell other people what we’re really thinking and feeling. It’s useful to know what these nonverbal signals mean.

Body language is a type of nonverbal communication. It’s when instead of words, we use behaviour to communicate how we feel. Although we can never be 100% sure what another person is thinking or feeling, there are clues that can help us understand.

Nonverbal communication often happens subconsciously.
