I thoroughly enjoyed reading the article about Vanderkloof and the Vanderkloof Dam in your Spring 2022 issue! It reminded me of a canoe trip I did with my four brothers and a friend in December 1973 – and I thought I’d share a few photos with you.

The six of us paddled down the Orange River from the Gariep Dam to Prieska – a distance of about 450km, which we covered in 10 days. I was 18.
