When celebrated director James Cameron unleashed Avatar onto the world it was an instant smash hit, breaking records left right and center. Avatar was a visual feast for the eyes, incorporating 3D technology the world has never seen before. Although the story was below average and the themes watered down, the Na'vi struck a chord with millions across the world and cemented the visual spectacle as the highest-grossing film of all time. Ironically in 2009, Cameron's other smash hit Titanic was the highest-grossing film at the time.
