OPENING UP ABOUT HER AUTISM JOURNEY CHRISTINE McGUINNESS ON CHALLENGES, FINDING HER CLAN, AND LEARNING TO BE HERSELF

When she was 31, Christine McGuinness – model, autism ambassador and Real Housewife of Cheshire – received an autism diagnosis. Suddenly, life made more sense.

“I think one of the biggest things was: ‘Oh, so that’s why I’ve got three autistic children!’” she says of her nine-year-old twins Leo and Penelope and six-year-old daughter Felicity with Top Gear presenter and comedian Paddy McGuinness.

“But it felt a huge relief. Autism is simply a different way of thinking and seeing the world, a different way of hearing, listening, communicating and socialising. My brain is different from others. But knowing what brain you’ve got helps you navigate differently.”

It’s a message she’s on a mission to spread. Describing herself as “a one-man band trying to change the world”, Christine, 34, has just written her first children’s book, , a bright,
