Sittingbourne offers England’s oldest Peckett for sale

THE 2ft 6in gauge Sittingbourne & Kemsley Light Railway is seeking a new home for one of two standard gauge locomotives in its collection.

The oldest-surviving Peckett in England, Class W4 0-4-0ST No. 614was delivered new to Colvilles Ltd steelworks at Mossend, Scotland, and was rebuilt in 1941 by Andrew Barclay as works No. 5997.
