MENTORSHIP MATTERS

Empowering women has always been at the heart of Her World’s mission.

And while women have made strident gains in the workplace today, there’s no denying that the path to success is never smooth. However, there is a tool that many successful women (and men) swear by: the power of mentorship.

In a world where talent is everywhere (but opportunity isn’t), mentors can provide guidance and support, cultivate confidence, and share their knowledge to help foster growth in a positive direction. This is why Her World launched its mentorship programme this year. At its core, the inaugural programme connects mentees with influential women who are leaders in their respective fields.

The pairing process started late last year. We shortlisted eight mentors: extraordinary women who have overcome obstacles, and are keen to pay it forward by sharing their knowledge.

At the same time, the team went through 120 mentee applications, which included resumes and submission forms that detailed their career goals and motivations.

We curated the list carefully, and spoke to the shortlisted mentees via video call to understand them better. Bearing in mind that we had confirmed eight very busy mentors from diverse industries, we wanted to approach
