It’s not surprising that the dominance of Jumbo-Visma at the men’s Vuelta produced some mutterings about motordoping. After all, it’s cycling’s favourite conspiracy theory. It’s got a pleasing element of Wacky Races. It’s easy to understand. Evidence for its existence is easy to claim (“Hey, look, that guy’s going faster than that one!”) and all but impossible to disprove.
