Lucy Folk

Most know Noosa-based designer Lucy Folk for her bold, talismanic jewellery. That soon may change. A beloved mainstay in the local fashion landscape, she's been adding to her nearly two decade-long repertoire with an increasing focus on ready-to-wear, and her approach is not unlike her general aesthetic: organic.

“My evolution with textiles has been a very natural journey,” says Folk, who is her brand personified: sun- and salt-kissed hair, always swathed in a rainbow of optimistic brights and a jangling collection of her own jewellery. Though she introduced clothing a few years back, with a range of summer-ready robes, cotton short sets and tunics, lately she's pushed things to another, elevated realm. “This summer we will debut a very small premium apparel collection for the first time, which is something I am really proud of,” she shares.

Inspired by traditional techniques practised by artisans globally from Italy to India, craftsmanship is the starting point, maintaining the tactile, raw elemental feel of her oeuvre.
