The quintessential experience at the Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District is the Fort Worth Herd cattle drive, where authentic cowhands drive a herd of Texas longhorns down the brick streets of Exchange Avenue daily at 11:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. The cattle drive, which is free to watch, celebrates “the diversity of the American cowboy, the Old West, and the livestock that had such an impact on our economy,” says Kristin Jaworski, herd trail boss.
