The Garden Route has a solid reputation within our borders and worldwide. But it's a shame many visitors who drive the route from Cape Town to reach their destination spend just a few days there and then head home the same way they came, along the N2. A detour up the R339 from Knysna might set you back an extra three hours, but you enjoy Robertson, Montagu, Calitzdorp, Oudtshoorn and Uniondale.
