Television presenter Kirstie Allsopp gave the eulogy for her father, Lord Hindlip, former Chairman of Christie’s, at the Grosvenor Chapel in South Audley Street.
Hindlip was a skilled for £24m in 1987. In 1997, he sold Princess Diana’s dresses for charity. As he said, ‘I placed a perfunctory hand on her shoulder’ – although photographs showed his hand somewhat lower down. He was also one of the few interviewees who got the better of Sacha Baron Cohen’s spoof interviewer, Ali G.
