New survey reveals future of self-builds
Anew study has found that 90% of UK adults believe the UK needs more housing, while 68% believe it is needed within five miles of their home, giving the lie to the idea we’re a nation of NIMBYs. The survey, commissioned by The Campaign for Individual Homes, reveals that what people really want is summarised by ‘small is beautiful’. Across all demographics and regions of the UK individual new houses on infill plots in or adjacent to existing towns and villages are the most popular option, while large housing estates are the least popular.
