About this audiobook
Meghan Misunderstood is a pioneering book that sets the record straight on the most talked about, unfairly vilified and misrepresented woman in the world.
Meghan Markle was eleven when she first advocated for women’s rights; a teenager when she worked in a soup kitchen feeding the homeless; a popular actress when she campaigned for clean water in Africa and passionately championed gender equality in a speech to a United Nations Women’s Conference. Even before she met Prince Harry, hers was an extraordinarily accomplished life.
Meghan’s wedding to Harry was a joyful occasion, marking happiness at last for the Queen’s grandson who had captured our hearts twenty years earlier when he bravely walked behind his mother Diana’s coffin. Theirs was a story that the screenwriters of Hollywood – where Meghan had made her name – could scarcely have imagined.
The rom-com fantasy, however, soon turned into disturbing drama: any expectation of a life happily-ever-after was cruelly dashed by bullying tabloid newspapers and their allies, both on social media and within the walls of the Palace itself.
Meghan was targeted for her gender, her race, her nationality and her profession. The abuse became so bad that seventy-two female MPs signed a letter of solidarity against the ‘often distasteful and misleading press’, calling out the ‘outdated colonial undertones’ of the stories.
Now, Sean Smith, the UK’s leading celebrity biographer, pulls no punches as he reveals the remarkable and powerful story of this self-made, intelligent American woman with a strong social conscience who has made such an impact on our lives.

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5My favorite part of this book was the title or lack thereof! I am really glad the title was just Prince Harry's wife's name...no royal title just her name which doesn't even sound royal? "Megan" is something you name your shih tzu or use as a stage name for strippers... the book itself was written well considering there is nothing remarkable about Harrys wife...the author didn't have much to work with. I mean it would be like having to write a book about watching paint dry..Harrys wife is average. If she was in a room full of other 40 year old women, she'd blend it. There is nothing captivating and everything was just too predictable. Most stories have a central blot, or the main character either does something amazing or overcomes some struggle. But this wasnt the case for Harrys wife. The entire time reading I was waiting for something to happen to justify reading it but there wasn't. The only reason I read it was because of the title and thought it was a fiction book about a girl called Megan. In fact had I not read the description, I would not have know exactly who she was until it mentioned Prince Harry. I probably should have recognized the picture but Harrys wife doesn't look African American up close whatsoever?
The entire book is filled with half truth, contradictions or stuff we already know... the only thing that makes Harry's wife interesting is Prince Harry....she is just plain, boring and mundane except she married a prince... otherwise than that I didn't find anything about this book engaging. It sounded superficial, lacked any depth and seemed like nothing more than propaganda! In fairness to the writer I read this book 4 years after it was released. Most of the things Harrys wife has said has been proven wrong, fabricated or embellished. Moreover her true colors have shown as the mask came off. So my negative review is based on the subject matter and knowing what we know now... - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5An absolute treasure of a book. Unbiased and truthful account of the life of the new minted duchess and her life.
