About this audiobook
In this Amazon Charts bestselling novel of psychological suspense, a young mother follows a dangerous path to find her missing husband.
Veronica Cavanaugh’s grasp on the world is slipping. Her latest round of fertility treatments not only failed but left her on edge and unbalanced. And her three-year-old daughter, Elizabella, has a new imaginary friend, who seems much more devilish than playful. So when Veronica’s husband fails to return home from a business trip, what’s left of her stability begins to crumble.
Given her family’s history of mental illness, and Elizabella’s insistence that her daddy is dead, Veronica starts questioning herself. Every move she makes is now suspect. Worse still, Veronica is positive that someone wants her and her daughter dead, too—unless it’s all in her mind…
Somewhere beneath her paranoia is the answer to her husband’s vanishing. To find it, she’s led to a house in the Florida Keys. But once there, she isn’t sure she wants to know the truth.

What our readers think
Readers find this title to be a mixed bag. Some reviewers enjoyed the intriguing plot twists and found the book to be a great read. However, there were negative comments about the narrator's voice, particularly when portraying the daughter. Some reviewers also felt that the writing was juvenile and the main character was unlikeable. Despite these criticisms, the book kept many readers guessing and was worth the read. Overall, the summary is positive, highlighting the intriguing plot and recommending the book to others.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Couldn’t bear the annoying child voice. Gave me a headache

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5The kids voice is the most annoying thing I have ever heard. It ruined what could of been a good book

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5The story was interesting, but the drama portrayed by the narrator was almost unbearable.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5The narration was awful. Glad to know I wasn't the only one who felt this way. Really distracted from the story.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Good storyline. I liked the lead character. Had I written the book I would have murdered the spoilt brat at about chapter 2. Worth a listen if you can bear the child’s voice.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5The story was decent. The narrator was the audiobook’s downfall. She overemphasized every action verb and adjective. The voice she gave to the daughter, Bella, was nearly impossible to listen to (the child’s lines were also poorly written, so there’s that). Bottom line, given a redo, I’d pass on this one.

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Had to stop at chapter 18. Narration is atrocious. Writing is elementary at best. Main character is written as dumb, hysterical, unhinged, and a pretty terrible person in general. Female authors writing this way about female characters really says something here. Don’t bother.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Great story and kept me hooked throughout. I just have one issue; the voice of the narrator was too nasal and sometimes it became very annoying.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I got tired of this book really fast
There was a lot of mystery which eventually kept me till the end but it was too repetitive. I was tired of the main character and her daughter at some point
Several times i considered stopping halfway, because i suspected it wasn’t worth it
I listened to the audio book , so i had the pleasure of multitasking and still i was tired

- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I couldn't get past the baby voice used by the narrator. It was so distracting.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Okay the book was alright but the Narrator was doing way to much it took me out of the moments a lot, especially when she was reading as the daughter. Main character wasn’t very likeable and grief was portrayed in a shallow way. An easy read to put on while cleaning

Narration -1*
It was awful, worse than a pig in the slaughterhouse.1 person found this helpful
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5The voice of the little girl is terribly annoying. If you can get paced that (very difficult) you will find this book enjoyable. But the voice! Awful!

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This would have been a very good thriller/mystery book - with a different narrator. The narrator was so whiney and screechy, overdoing the main character’s emotional distress. And her “child” voice for the little girl was unbearable. Had I read the text e-book version, or had it been narrated by someone else, I would’ve given 4 - 5 stars. I have enjoyed other books by this author. Skip this one, read the e book, or prepare to be very annoyed at the narrator.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Audio narration is absolutely intolerable. Did anyone test listen this before releasing it? Between the audio quality, what sounds like lisping, and ultra high pitched, unrealistic character voices, I stopped one chapter in. I can't actually speak for the story line, which never happens. Had I purchased this narration, vs. it being included with my subscription, I would request a refund immediately.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I couldn’t hear anything, it cut in and out, terrible quality and a waste of a free book
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5This book was in the "literary fiction" category. It should not be. This is pulpy trashy whodunnit fiction. I should say that I absolutely love pulpy trashy whodunnit fiction, but this simply wasn't very well done and was just a bit hard to listen to. It's like it is simple schlock trying to be more than that. In trying to make the protagonist and her daughter empathetic and 3D the author has actually achieved the opposite. She comes across as self centred, whiney, privileged and oblivious. The kind of book I'd usually like to pass the time, but very poorly executed. Still a little unclear as to what the title has to do with the book...
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Love this story and kept me guessing right to the end. The reader was amazing and the only negative thing I have to say and it’s not only with this book is that when a writer writes small childrens lines they don’t have me convinced a little child would actually say that. ❤️
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The plot was awesome & the ending was great! Loved it!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Very slowww & repetitive about 2/3 in so I fast forwarded here and there I guess it could have just bin shorter that said I still found it a fun listen ?
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5The story was kind of interesting, although the ending wasn’t as interesting as I anticipated. I think I would have liked the book more if I had read it instead of listening to the audio version. The reader was way too dramatic and the voice she used for the little daughter was just terrible. I was also often annoyed by the dialog which was so stupid sometimes and the main character was also just so dumb at times. But I wanted to know how it would all end so I did listen to the end, although it felt like an anti climax.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5It was an intriguing story, but the writing is so juvenile. People don’t actually think they’re crazy when crazy things happened to them. I just found it very frustrating. Yet the premise held so much promise.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Too much "am I going crazy" discussion. Please just mention twice (not 20 times) and move on. No idea why the book is called "Trespassing".
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Really kept me guessing up to the end. Great read.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Liked the story. Did not like the narrator’s adaption. Difficult to listen to.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Great plot. Narrator was awesome, and did not have the "robotic voice" definitely one of my favorites so far!
