About this audiobook

The political intrigues rampant in Vidal's 1960 setting are strangely similar what is going on today. Includes an interview with actors Fred Thompson and Marsha Mason.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Many readers will probably find this clash between the intellectual statesman and the conservative demagogue more relevant now than when it was written. Although my personal political views would differ markedly from Vidal's, I still think it is well crafted. My personal favorite character is the ex-president probably based loosely on Truman.
