Very slow read. I like C.S. Lewis but this felt unnecessarily longwinded. I think this book is a good illustration of heaven and hell but I made it to Chapter 12 and gave up because it was just too dry.

A well written tale well told. A philosophical and religious fantasy. A discussion in the form of an allegory. Enjoyable and enlightening, all the more interesting viewed through the lens of time and subsequent changes in culture and mores.

Thought-provoking and entertaining book with mostly good narration, although I would have preferred he didn’t attempt the teacher’s accent in the final few chapters.
