Overcoming Cancer - Judi Moreo
What Others Are Saying About This Book
This book is a must for those facing cancer and for those who have loved ones facing this fear-filled disease. Judi writes from the heart—telling her story with truth and emotion. She highlights her course of action, not forcing her opinions on anyone but truly providing options to conventional cancer care that are sound and do-able. Her recommendations for nutrition therapy and exercise are quite impressive and fact-based.
—JULIE FREEMAN, MA, RD, LD,
Licensed Nutritionist, Integrative Medicine
This book is the most sincere and honest information that I have read to date involving a person’s journey with cancer. The blessing and difference with this book is Judi’s outcome. To date, she is cancer-free and is openly willing to share with others her process in achieving this. Her compelling story will inspire others to at least look at available options and regardless of their personal decisions know that hope, faith, and their attitudes will improve their lives.

"The wisdom shared throughout this book, and the open mind and compassionate heart from which it flows, benefits us all. Judi’s holistic return to vibrant health inspires not only those directly dealing with cancer, but each one of us who seek a calmer, more peaceful and balanced life.
If we lovingly and genuinely manifest her statement, When we improve our thoughts, we improve our feelings, which in turn, improves our behavior, and leads directly to improved results,
and then apply the techniques Judi shares, we are guaranteed to enhance our quality of living, and the lives of those around us."

Judi’s story is direct, informational, and humorous. When you get to know Judi, you will see this is the way she is. This book will help those of you who are dealing with cancer to have hope, courage, and the knowledge to make informed choices. I used the practices she describes to take charge of my own health and defeat the cancer I experienced.

This book is a resoundingly positive testimony to the concept of choice, not only in decisions about our health when it is seriously compromised, but about that faculty inherent in our humanness that allows us to make good decisions. Judi’s story of her sense that there were choices available and her journey to find them as well as her courage to face her fear by not giving in to it and to take the time to become informed is a powerful adventure in faith, both in those enlisted to guide and treat her and in God.
—CAT SCHELLING
Cancer Survivor
Cancer is a very complex illness, but this book manages to present sufficient detail for readers to come away informed. It’s written in a light, easy style and is insightful, which gives the reader a real opportunity to focus on something positive. I, myself, have overcome cancer and particularly liked the way in which there is a good balance between ‘conventional’ therapy and ‘alternate’ therapy. Readers will find this book is full of information and anyone reading it, even if they don’t have cancer, will also find interesting and useful information. The practical tips given will help equip patients and their families to deal with their situation. What is different about it compared to other books on cancer is that it’s written by someone who actually went through it. In fact, while not making light of this subject, the author has injected a great deal of humor and common sense into something which can be scary and isolating. If we all embraced the positive message in this book, we would all be living healthier and happier lives.

AS A NATUROPATHIC MEDICAL DOCTOR, I SEE MANY PEOPLE WHO HAVE GROWN tired of the Managed Healthcare System that Western medicine currently uses to manage illness and disease. Judi Moreo is one of these people who found herself in the midst of a personal health crisis, with the diagnosis of Breast Cancer, where the options presented for treatment were not acceptable to her.
Judi, like so many others, realized her body was created by God, and while not perfect, our bodies have mechanisms to heal themselves. Indeed, there are multiple mechanisms that can be very powerful in the healing process. One of these mechanisms is focused on giving the body the micro and macro nutrients the body needs not just to heal but to function properly.
Many of the old time doctors would say, in order for the body to heal, you just need to give it the nutrients it needs, increase elimination of toxins, and stimulate the body towards healing.
In fact, all of my therapeutic modalities fit into one of these three categories. In Judi’s case, we utilized therapeutic treatments in each. However, while many of the things we did were helpful in the process towards healing and health, there was one healing modality I couldn’t provide. In fact, it was the most important modality used in Judi’s reclaiming of her health. That modality was her faith in God and the belief she could be whole.
Now before I paint too rosy a picture of Judi, she was not always like Pollyanna. She definitely had her rough days and, at times, doubts about the decision she was making regarding her health. That being said, almost every time I saw Judi, despite some major stresses in her life, her attitude was positive and she was striving to see the glass half full. I personally feel this exercise of striving to keep a positive attitude no matter the stresses in our lives helps us weather the storms of our lives much easier and makes it possible for the Lord’s Spirit to bless our lives more abundantly.
Don’t mistake what I am saying. If we just have a positive attitude, we will be healed of
