Chapter 1
Life is an adventure, or so they say. In my case it was a truly big adventure. It is also said that life is not always fair; well I can certainly vouch for that. But, in my case, what a life I have had!
As I lounged in the shade under the awning one hot summer day it occurred to me that I had a pretty good recollection of my life and adventures and with the help of my journals, diaries and of course my photo albums I should share my life and the events that shaped it. I was not getting any younger and if I did not do it now, well, frankly, it just would not get done.
I thought there might just be an audience who would enjoy my stories, so why not compile them into an autobiography. So that is just what I did.
My story begins when I found myself on the street. I had just been pushed out of a pickup truck by the man who had been taking care of me since I was born. Into the street I went with no more thought than garbage dropped in a trash can. In fact, it all happened so fast, I had no time to react.
One minute I was inside the truck, and the next minute I was outside watching the truck drive away. I found myself out in the cold; sleet was falling and my coat was very, very wet. It is amazing how quickly your life can change. I tried to run after the truck but it was just too fast, eventually I gave up.
I don’t seem to remember how I got myself in this predicament, in fact, I don’t remember too much before I got dumped on that street. What I do remember is that I had brothers and sisters I played with in a small room and of course, I must have had parents. Other than that, my life was a blank page.
I was unwanted! Why me? Why didn’t the man want me? Why didn’t he love me? Where were, my brothers and sisters? What had I done wrong? I had no answers for all these questions.
All alone, for the first time in my short life, I had to depend on only me. I quickly realized that there was no home, no family and nowhere to go.
The fall weather was brutal; I thought I would never get warm. Although my situation was not good, I realized that I was determined to go on with life. Somehow, I believed I was special and I had no choice but to move forward.
Why, move forward you wonder? Well, I felt that everything
