About this ebook
Have you always had an interest in Wicca or witchcraft but had no coven to join, and
didn't really know who to ask or where to start? Or, do you have some familiarity with
Wicca but practice alone, or are working to complete your own Book of Shadows? This
book is geared for the beginning Wiccan who is curious about the Craft and isn't sure
where to start learning or how to become a part of the community! It assumes some
familiarity with the art form, but no actual experience with the craft. There are lengthy
and thorough discussions on the history and basic philosophies of Wicca, the Sabbats,
crystal properties, herbalism, some basic spells, and a couple advanced practices to whet
the palate for further study.
Highlights Include:
Explanation of the Wheel of the Year and rituals to mark its various holidays
Suggestions for spellwork and altar set-up

Introduction
As any Wiccan knows, the amount of information that a good witch needs to keep track of can seem endless! Herbalism, color correspondences, elemental correspondences, spells, position of the moon, position of the sun, length of the days…It can be quite overwhelming!
The purpose of this book is more than an introduction to the reader about the basics of Wiccan philosophy, ethics, and history. Beginners interested in the absolute basics should, therefore, turn to Wicca 101
and meet me back here when it is finished. Rather, the assumption is that the reader knows what Wicca is, and what it isn’t. It is also assumed that the reader is comfortable practicing alone, and has the essentials, such as an altar, a wand, candles, etc.
This book, then, is a reference to some of the nuances of witchery: what herbs should be used for what holiday, when the holidays are, what crystals perform which function, what color candles for which spells, which recipes should be used when…It can be an excellent guide for the solitary practitioner, the witch that has strayed from the coven and wishes to return, or the beginner who understands the idea behind Wicca but needs guidance in terms of application. So, with that in mind, happy reading!
Though ye harm none
Do what ye wilt.
Section 1: Herbs and Other Magic Tools
Herbs
Just about any witch will need to have at least a passing familiarity with the properties of herbs, and their functions. Here is a reference to the handiest herbs by function, and then by the herb itself. You may also wish to gather or learn about herbs that do not appear in this book or list. A glossary of definitions follows to aid you in your quest.
ANALGESIC: Medicine given to ease pain.
ANTICONVULSANT: An agent that can prevent or arrest seizures and tremors.
ANTIFUNGAL: A substance that kills fungus, usually applied topically.
