About this ebook

This is a magical tale of a small turtle name Bobby who has a big secret - something that he's never told anyone. He is in a struggle to find his true identity. When Bobby's grandfather overhears Bobby and his friends discussing Bobby's problem, he tries to help them by telling them a story of a legendary magical garden that holds the power to grant wishes. Bobby, along with his best friends Lacey the lizard, and the turtle twins, Terry and Terri with an "I"(cause that's how she says her name), get into mischief and together they all decide their only choice is to run away. They begin a journey to find the magical wishing garden. Somehow they believe it just might be the answer to all their problems. Along the way, they meet some odd but friendly characters. They also have a close encounter with two of the most notorious buzzard brothers they have ever met, and one character that knows a secret about Bobby's grandfather. While Bobby and his friends are on their journey, they learn that sometimes you just might prosper by looking out for the needs of others rather than yourself. This is a very adventurous tale that has a surprise ending. It also can help children of all ages learn the meaning of true friendship. Enjoy, and open your imagination because anything is possible if your heart is true.

Sean Lovelace is a 47 year old father of two. He has been married for 24 years to his wife, Phyllis Lovelace. He works full time at a local recycle paper mill on the gulf coast of Alabama. He is blessed with a creative and artistic ability and talent. Although he has never received any formal training, he has a natural talent in drawing, murals, painting, wood carving and various mediums. Recently a twist in his creativity surfaced. Giving events that occurred in daily life, he was reminded, of all things, a children's story. The events that took place were children growing and ready to try their wings. A short illustrated story about a small turtle who had always wanted to fly grew from this. The story that he has written should appeal to children or anyone young at heart. The story has an excellent moral standing and constructive base to its fiber. With the response of friends and family he was persuaded to attempt publishing his story of Bobby the turtle who magically transforms into Bobby the Burtlefly Since writing this story he has already considered two more fully illustrated books to add to Bobby's adventurous journals.

Have you ever had the feeling that you were meant to do something different in life other than what people say you should or you shouldn’t do? You know that special thing, that only you wish you could do and no one else could. Not the little things like, Don’t put mayonnaise on your peas, that’s not good for you, or Don’t wear your socks without your shoes while you’re playing, you’ll get them dirty. And how about this one? Don’t put those worms in your pocket, that’s nasty. I mean the big one, the one thing that you daydream about, and the one thing that you know is just for you and you alone. All you have to do is believe in yourself and sometimes follow your heart. Yes, it just may be a challenge but that’s the fun part. I really believe it’s possible that you can do it. Sure you can, especially with a little help from your friends.

    Chapter 1

Not so long ago in a not so far away land lived a turtle whose name was Bobby. Just so, you know, Bobby was the littlest turtle in the forest. He lived in a place called the Black Forest. Bobby's family lived there long before he was born; his grandfather grew up there and his mother and father were born there. They had many fond memories of the forest and lots of great adventures during their childhoods such as Bobby did.

Many years ago, when Bobby’s grandfather was just a little turtle about the age of Bobby, a great storm fell over the forest. This storm came from out of the blue. I mean to tell you lightning was cracking and popping all over the forest. It was a storm like no one had ever seen before. Little did the animals know, but life as they knew it was about to change. All of the animals in the forest did their best to hide because they were very scared and not a single creature in the forest knew exactly what was about to happen.

One spring day when the animals woke up, the dark sky had finally cleared and the raging storm was over. All the little animals came out of hiding only to see how the damage had changed their home. The storm also changed them. All the animals big and small could speak; they really could. They were a lot like people, doing things just like people do, with one exception, they lived life. Imagination and dreams is what created this land and that's how they lived helping each other, living just like one big happy family.

Bobby and his family lived in an old tree trunk at the very bottom of the tree if you didn't already know. Bobby's Great Grandfather found this tree after the great storm had cleared. He worked on the tree trunk with the help of his family and friends and after a lot of hard work; they had turned this leftover tree trunk into a very nice home.

Each animal helped each other build their homes in the forest. They created a small village by a pond where Bobby's family and his friend’s families grew up and now this is where Bobby lives, growing and playing with his best friends every day.

Bobby was a very curious little turtle with a big imagination and he lived in the small village down by Tadpole Pond. Bobby and his friends would sometimes swim and play down by the pond pretending they were wild pirates on the high seas. He and his friends had lots of fun there. They just had to be careful of Ole Lock jaw Bass but we'll
