How To Tame the 13-21-point Suit Hand
The primary goal of a Bridge bidding system is to:
* Find a Golden Fit, an 8-card major fit
* Find a Silver Fit, a 7-card major fit
* A No Trump fit
* Aid you and your partner in knowing the value of the combined hands
To that end, the JS Bidding System was developed.

tmp_a3a362f3e13548fc9a03640cf50aef88_vWrK7a_html_593758ea.jpgescribed here is a different way of handling the Standard American 13-21 point opening hand. As you will see, JS takes a different approach to bidding this hand by imagining it as three 3-point groups as shown below:
With JS you can arrive at a part score, game, or slam using two well-known conventions never before used in suit bidding or with 2C–strong hands: Jacoby Transfer and Stayman.
With JS, the opener defines his point count just as he does in Standard American, and responder assumes opener has 14 points (the average of the lowest range). He can then total team points and KNOW before bidding whether part score, game, or even slam is possible based on his points. If responder has 10+ points, he makes a jump bid to inform opener of game points. (14 + 10 = 24 points, enough for game).
