Bible Promises for Women - BH Publishing Group
Much of the Bible was written almost before writing began, yet somehow the words feel like they came in on the morning bus.
They speak to needs that are as current as our last conscious thought, yet near to the heart of women throughout history.
When we ask God to meet our needs, we are speaking to One who has heard this same cry countless times across cultures and time zones, yet who never tires of handling its minutest details. We who are faithfully in His Word today are also safe in His hands.
Your Need
FOR
Simplicity
Does Life Have to Be This Complicated?
Don't worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.
And the peace of God, which surpasses every thought, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
—Philippians 4:6–7
Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Your heart must not be troubled or fearful.
—John 14:27
The Spirit Himself testifies together with our spirit that we are God's children, and if children, also heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ—seeing that we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him.
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is going to be revealed to us.
—Romans 8:16–18
This is why I tell you: Don't worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Isn't life more than food and the body more than clothing?
Look at the birds of the sky: they don't sow or reap or gather into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren't you worth more than they?
—Matthew 6:25–26
No one can be a slave of two masters, since either he will hate one and love the other, or be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot be slaves of God and of money.
—Matthew 6:24
And why do you worry about clothes? Learn how the wildflowers of the field grow: they don't labor or spin thread. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was adorned like one of these!
If that's how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and thrown into the furnace tomorrow, won't He do much more for you—you of little faith?
—Matthew 6:28–30
Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for yourselves.
—Matthew 11:28–29
One day [Jesus] and His disciples got into a boat….They set out, and as they were sailing He fell asleep. Then a fierce windstorm came down on the lake; they were being swamped and were in danger. They came and woke Him up, saying, Master, Master, we're going to die!
Then He got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waves. So they ceased, and there was a calm. He said to them, Where is your faith?
They were fearful and amazed, asking one another, Who can this be? He commands even the winds and the waves, and they obey Him!
—Luke 8:22-25
The Bible gives me a deep, comforting sense that things seen are temporal, and things unseen are eternal.
—Helen Keller
Now the end of all things is near; therefore, be clear-headed and disciplined for prayer.
Above all, keep your love for one another at full strength, since love covers a multitude of sins. Be hospitable to one another without complaining.
Based on the gift they have received, everyone should use it to serve others, as good managers of the varied grace of God.
If anyone speaks, his speech should be like the oracles of God; if anyone serves, his service should be from the strength God provides,
