This one was pretty educational for me. There were several things written about cats, and even tigers, that I didn't know. I laughed a few times at the lines, too, like this one:"Often it is only the female lions that do the hunting while the male lions do most of the sleeping." "Hey! I like that idea! Yo, Jeannie! Go get me a sandwich at the deli while I take a nap!"It's safe to say, Jeannie was not pleased lol The only thing I really have to complain about is the use of the word "Kitty". Like, I get it, kids book and all, but jesus. I'm gonna be seeing the word "Kitty" in my nightmares. Actually, I'm gonna count how many times it was said in this book! Drum roll, please~! 115 times! Wow. This is not including the word "cat" or "kitties" and it doesn't include anything past the appendix. Why didn't he give the cat a name, I wonder? Or is Kitty her name? Weird, it's like a more annoying version of Pokemon lol Even the dog is just named Puppy. What age range are these books? I know they are for kids, let's see... ages 9 - 12? I'm not really sure how a child would respond to how many times "Kitty" is used, honestly, but as an adult, I can safely say it's kind of annoying haha But this series is cute and educational and, as a cat lover, worth owning!

This is a mildly cute, easy-to-read chapter book. Lots of illustrations throughout drive the story - that of a bad kitty having a birthday party. All his kitty friends are described, as well as their presents, the cake, the decorations, etc. I liked the other Bad Kitty books well enough, and this was pretty funny, but nothing to write home about. Good for younger kids who might be too young for the Wimpy Kid series.

This is a strange book to have ended up in the graphic novels category for the Cybils nominations as I wouldn't really, at first, have considered it a graphic novel. There are no frames or bubbles and the whole story is told by a narrator. However, the book is heavily graphically dependant and without the graphics there are many parts of the story that wouldn't make sense. Hence, I realistically (though grudgingly) can see its place as a graphic novel. I didn't like this book. It's Bad Kitty's birthday. He's so lazy he can't be bothered until he hears there are presents and cake. He has one thing he wants, a $600 super cat scratcher. Each unique guest arrives (the stinky kitty, the pretty kitty, etc.) bringing an appropriate gift but of course no $600 super cat scratcher. It's a lot of pages for a very simplistic plot, but then it's very full of illustrations. Spread through out the book are real life factual spreads about cats which seem to just pop up and while related to the story going on feel like a teacher stepped onto the scene and is giving a little lesson. I won't continue as it's not my practice to only make negative comments. Not recommended.
