THE HEART OF TAO SYSTEM
INTRODUCTION
I wish I had this book - which you are holding in your hands now - 30 years ago. Up until my 26th birthday, I felt guilty being born. From earliest childhood on, my parents, teachers, trainers, coaches, professors, 'friends', 'masters', whoever; told me: ''Something is wrong with you''. Those kind people were always eager to assure me of being: 'Bad', 'incompetent', 'juvenile delinquent', 'perverted', 'introverted', 'extroverted', 'asocial', 'stupid', 'stuck up', 'lazy', 'a bad son', 'a big failure, a sissy, effeminate faggot, 'not being gay', 'heterosexual', 'running around with the wrong girls', 'sleeping with my buddies', 'a gay guy, eager to come out', 'ignorant and stupid concerning Asian countries, their cultures, their native languages, their mentalities' (sic!); etc. Name any bad personality trait. Or any one of the 7 Sins. Naturally, I had committed them all...or so I thought.
One day - still in night school working for my diploma - I bought a paperback: 'Josef Kirschner: Manipulation: 8 Ways to Control Others'. Epiphany. The Holy Grail. I was enlightened. What I found out, was, that for 26 years I believed all that shit. And bought all of it, without ever questioning its validity. Hook, line and sinker. I felt deep GUILT about my very personality, my very own existence in this world. After finishing the book, I became so angry with myself, being so ignorant of my inherent self - worth and natural dignity.
The patterns Josef Kirschner described in his bestseller, were simple everyday manipulations. MANIPULATIONS. In the office. At home. At parties. People just used me to further their own personal advantage. Putting themselves constantly onatop of me. By stamping barcodes on my forehead, which had in most cases NO intrinsic readout, no truth, no reality.
People, who knew nothing about me. People, who didn't even know, who I was. But I believed in those 'classifications'. I felt blameworthy, being a 'non - homosexual', but being 'a homosexual'; not being a woman, because women are so kind and so understanding. Later I discovered Paul Watzlawick, Milton Erickson, Maturana & Varela, Bandler & Grinder and Taoism. I learned about 'double bind' and 'schizophrenia inducing communication patterns'. But to a six - year - old all this stuff is meaningless.
So, in this book I want to introduce a new form of Psychology - namely Taoist Psychology'. The premise of Taoist Psychology (TOP) is short:
''YOU ARE OKAY - BUT OTHERS TELL YOU OTHERWISE!''
Now: What do you say, when it turns out, that others (who are just so eager to label your every thought and move) are the very ones, who got it wrong. Like: ''He has obstipation, I think, he is to the john for a hour now, he's some anal - retentive, I heard that on PBS''. In Taoist Psychology, we just ignore this white noise. If labeling is done, we fire back: ''Yeah. Right. And you suffer from recto - cranial inversion. I heard that on PBS, too!'' Boom. Verbal judo. And we go one step beyond: We will find out about THEM. What is it, that makes them tick? What is behind THEIR act? Who are THEY? What is THEIR inner make up?
What this book does, is, giving you some advantage over THEM. This book tells you, that in many instances you just associated yourself with the WRONG people. That most of the time, you just run with the wrong crowd. Now it's you, who is labeling THEM.
And you know what? For the first time, you will discover, that THEY are NOT better than you. They are only better in manipulating your sorry little ass. For their personal benefit. For their profit. To make you feel like shit. And because of that, their little life seems more meaningful, more powerful, more rewarding. Because they found the sucker of the day: You!
Whould you like to turn things around? For once, branding THEM? Putting a stamp on their forehead, for a change?
You can start now. By reading this book. By unlocking the secrets of the 12 Taoist Zodiacs. Let's go get THEM. It's about time.
MAY THE 8 LUCKY SAINTS BE WITH YOU!

1. TAOIST PSYCHOLOGY DEALS WITH CONTENT
Being a young Psychologist, I was trained in Counseling Psychotherapy, Ericksonian Hypnotherapy and NLP. Even with the fast tool set of NLP, it took me days to reorganize small businesses or departments within bigger frameworks. Today, I go into any office of twenty or more employees, and do the restructuring (who with whom) in one hour. That's the power of Taoist Psychology.
Taoist Psychology (TOP) is the most effective instrument for doing research; exposing a customer's or competitor's birthday (via social media). It is a invaluable tool for any good HR department, irrespective the size of the company.
NLP: PROCESS ORIENTED YANG
TOP: CONTENT ORIENTED YIN
TOP differs from a short - time therapy like NLP. It carries some uncanny precision and practicability in every context, involving human beings. NLP is simply lacking a 2000 - year - old patterning of personality types (content); as being collected here by the ancient Taoist Masters. In my opinion, TOP is the very content missing in NLP model building, to turn it into a more complete erector set of human behaviour (and its subsequent prediction). If you like: The Yin to the Yang.
The typology of the 12 ZODIAC ANIMALS, plays a major role in Asian culture and daily 'fortunetelling'. Not because it's some 'superstitious nonsense' as contemporary Psychology and the Communist Party of China are so eager to declare. Alas, it has proven its efficacy and worth in daily life. Time and time again.. Chinese businessmen - if in Hong Kong, Taiwan or the Mainland - do not execute decisions without consulting first the underlying 12 ZODIACS involved. They do this themselves or they hire a expert, mostly a Feng Shui Master. Asked about this technique, they outright deny their involvement in those 'magic pranks'.
