His books, therefore, touch on a variety of challenges that have crossed his path, both conceptual and practical.Ray was born in Toronto, studied for ministry at Ontario Bible College, where he earned a Bachelor of Theology. While pastoring in Peterborough, from Trent University he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology.Ray pastored Baptist churches in Peterborough, Trenton, Port Hope, Oshawa and Scarborough for 32 years before retiring from pastoral service. Pastoral ministry, of course, involved all aspects of personal and family care. While pastoring, Ray took many practical ministry and counselling courses to enhance his skills as well a travelling province-wide teaching insightful seminars.Since retiring from pastoring, Ray has served as an Officiant, primarily for weddings.       Throughout the entire wedding process Ray was so helpful and patient with us. Answered all of our questions and always went above and beyond.       Ray is a great Officiant! We really appreciated his support towards our wedding. He ensured our ceremony was OUR ceremony incorporating our interests and uniqueness, which we really appreciated. He was very personable to all members of our wedding. During the rehearsal he was great in explaining the expectations of the people involved in the ceremony, i.e. the readers, groomsmen, bridesmaids, to help ease their nervousness.       Ray is such an amazing person! He took everything we wanted and made it happen. His ability to lead our entire wedding party and family through the rehearsal was incredible! His attention to every little detail such as the angle at which each bridesmaid and groomsman were to stand, astounded me! The way he was able to communicate exactly how we would feel and how he would lead us through it was exact, and gave us confidence while we were saying our vows in front of 200 of our friends and family members.       Ray was an amazing help. He directed the rehearsal with great leadership and explained clearly to everyone their roles and positions so there would be no confusion. He also helped set a good tone. After our ceremony many guests told us they felt Ray had known us for years because of the personal touches he put into the ceremony. His personality was a great fit. Couldn't have gone better.

      I found it very helpful the way Ray took the lead and ran the rehearsal. A wedding ceremony can be intimidating for everyone involved in the wedding party as well as the parents and I truly believed having Ray run through everything with us and provide his tips made the world of a difference! I would highly recommend Ray to any couple!

      Ray was exceptional with his flexibility, diligence and professionalism. He was easily approachable with any questions and/or concerns and he was a true comfort throughout the whole process as he made me feel at ease. His rehearsal was so helpful as he had it very structured and made sure that there was absolutely no confusion as to what the expectations were on the wedding day. He also added some comedic and personal touches into the rehearsal and the ceremony. After our wedding we had many comments on how wonderful Ray was and many people asking for his information!
