Lucy’s 3-in-1 kraft•tex
Bag Pattern
Finished small bag: 9˝ wide × 9½˝ high × 7¾˝ deep
Finished medium bag: 15˝ wide × 9½˝ high × 7¾˝ deep
Finished large weekender bag: 22˝ wide × 11¾˝ high × 9½˝ deep
The key to this collection of bags is versatility. The bands with the handles are attached to the bag with snaps, so you can make bands in many colors—or with different features—and swap them out as needed. Furthermore, the bands for the small and medium bags are interchangeable. The finished large weekender bag is 22˝ long—perfect for a carry-on.
MATERIALS
kraft•tex is most easily available in rolls. Rolls of the regular kraft•tex colors (Black, Chocolate, Natural, Stone, and White) are 19˝ × 54˝. The kraft•tex Designer colors (Blue Iris, Blue Turquoise, Greenery, Marsala, Radiant Orchid, and Tangerine Tango) are 19˝ × 29˝. Yardage is based on 42˝-wide fabric. Allow extra fabric for directional prints.
*2½ yards if you piece the band interfacing
A NOTE ABOUT GLUE AND STAPLES (STAPLES?!)
Because you can’t pin through kraft•tex without the holes showing, I recommend glue tacking the pieces together. I prefer Fabri-Tac because it instantly holds the pieces
