CHAPTER 1
A GLASS OF YOU, PLEASE!
Jakarta, Indonesia
Jolktown 1st Building / 5890th floor.
Klotche Hall
Are you against happiness?
he asked.
I am the supporter of it,
she said.
"Supporter for being against’?" he asked.
"Supporter for being happy," she said.
The late 29th century office room with a star-spangled sky view was full of vibrant emotions, crowd of brisk thoughts, but only with the presence of two ablaze-minded souls, positioned with the front towards each other. She - in an ordinary red-rose dress... He – in a luxurious night-blue suit.
Happiness,
she said, "it`s when I am able to desire more than I actually have. It`s the main proof for being the one, whose faith is limited with infinities. Many might call me as an idealist, or as someone who is just a dreamer of dreaming... but I consider myself as an ideal realist. Every time I come up with a worth idea, I start progressing my subconscious mind at such an extent, which gets able to convert my unideal ideas into the reality I have been seeking for... and, then, it starts conveying the newly born imaginative reality to my consciousness, which has been found by it... and founded by it... Man who only acts is a slave. Man who only thinks is an illusionist. But the one, who is wise enough to generate Thoughts, and realize those, by instructing them with the self-cognized right technics... the one, who also attempts to interchange the Thought of act into the Act of the thought... is the only one we need to take a cue from. It`s because he has the nature of a true ideal realist...
"By holding such notions inside, I`m used to waking up in the mornings of inspirations. By tiptoed wandering around my room, I`m used to setting up the air for the breath of my inspirations. I don`t want to simply breathe the uninspired air, accompanied with such fear that without it the day will arrive, and the Utopian world, created by me in such an anti-Utopian world, created by the Universe, will cease to exist... These phrases are not stolen from books; even though they sound lyrically... It was just the brief description of the reality where I`m able to find my true happiness. And I love it..."
Mrs. Seymour,
said Jeffrey Subarto, the CEO of a high-ranking psychological firm, "and this was your candid answer to what does keep your happiness alive?"
Yes, Mr. Jeffrey,
Saira`s trembling voice was barely heard. As a 25-year-old lady, holding philosophical perspectives towards the life, she did not expect such an indifferent response from him. Yes,
she repeated more confidently. But this is not the feeling I am offering for sale, now. I`m bargaining another feeling. Just I`ve talked about the happiness, because I feel its inspiring blast every time, when I have an emotion of-
An emotion of what...? What`s the feeling you`re ready to offer for my research?
Jeffrey asked, indignantly.
The silence approached as expected. She felt a bit disappointed because of the coldness noticed in his words.
Mr. Jeffrey,
she said, may I ask for a glass of water, please?
Mrs. Seymour, you have only a minute left until the end of your interview-time. Many people are waiting in the queue for their turn to be interviewed. Please, deduce your speech by mentioning the name of the feeling you want to sell. Otherwise, please, give an opportunity to others.
She mildly got up from her limpid lounge-seat, without expressing any of the buried emotions. She noticed some emotional blindness towards the view covering her stubborn black eyes. Some storm of indignation was lurked behind her silky movements. His neglectful smile and the impertinent anxiety nearly assured her about the probable dissatisfaction. Presumably he thinks that I have no feeling to offer him,
she thought, or even worse - I`m a liar, who just wants to receive the reward promised.
Such depressing thoughts were burning the streams of her brain within seconds. She started walking towards the broad panoramic floor-to-ceiling-window. He was standing there.
I have been here, Mr. Jeffrey,
she softly whispered in his ear, by doughtily touching his neck with her palm. I`m sure, I`ll be missing the moment of you, giving the glass of water to me... even though, you rejected to do so.
Jeffrey did not pay closer attention to her words at the outset.
Have you ever missed something you`ve never experienced before?
she asked. "...something you`ve never given, something you`ve never seen... or even something you`ve never actually been acquainted with before.
Sir, trust me - it`s possible. Personally, I`m familiar with such an emotion. I`m missing a place... an abstract place, I have never been before. Even though it sounds quite weird, it`s the exact feeling, which keeps haunting me everywhere and all the time. Try to presume the dogmatic origin of its existence, and you`ll want to buy it for the research you`re going to conduct.
Well, Mrs. Seymour,
Jeffrey said,
