    INTRODUCTION

    Are you serious about writing?

    My Journey

I BEGAN MY WRITING journey with the first in my Bad Boy Billionaires series, Tamed by the Billionaire. I had always loved feisty females and, in this story, I was determined to write about a heroine who was just that – feisty and fearless and full of spunk. Of course, in the end she would be tempered by the ultimate alpha male, the kind of man I would want to fall in love with, myself.

And, thus, was born Tamed by the Billionaire, the story of a spoiled rich girl who, according to a plan orchestrated by her own father, was made to work for a man determined to make her the kind of woman her father had always wanted his daughter to be. But who said the job would be easy? The hero certainly met his match when he found himself boss to a girl who was anything but a meek maiden. No, she was more like a vicious vixen. These were the kinds of characters who intrigued me and, so, I began to write these kinds of stories, stories that I loved.

From there, I went on to write Maid in the U.S.A., a story with a very different heroine, a more reserved one, to be sure, but one who was still able to teach the billionaire bachelor a lesson on love.

Why do I mention these stories? I mention them to let you see that what made me get started was the fact that I was creating characters with whom I had fallen in love. In fact, if falling in love with several men at the same time is a sin, I'm guilty. I'm guilty of falling in love with every bold bachelor I have ever created.

So, what was step one in my journey? Falling in love with romance novels was the first step for me. That's the best place to get going - getting started in writing on a subject that sweeps you away. If you love romance, then write romance. Write a romance novel that you, yourself, will fall in love with. Write characters you can't resist. That's the key to connecting with readers, a critical component in writing. If you can connect, and your readers can love your characters the way you do, then you have a firm formula for success.

After having written over 50 novels (some published and some not yet published), I've learned a lot
