      Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem

      This is In Sha Allah the first volume of the complete explanation of the Quran. Each volume will have a Para or Juz of the Quran. The only exceptions to this will be the first and the last Juz which I have decided to split into two volumes. The first volume will have the explanation of Surah Fatiha.

      This explanation of the Quran is based on authentic Tafseers of the Quran done by eminent and trustworthy scholars in the past and present. Only authentic sayings of the Prophet (SAWS) have been used as proofs and evidence. The translation of the Quran and the sayings of the Prophet (SAWS) into English are not the exact word to word translation and only an interpretation of the meaning. They should not be taken—and are not—the exact Word of Allah or the saying of the Prophet (SAWS).

      I request all the readers to please inform me of any mistakes in the explanation and I will In Sha Allah correct them.

      Introduction

      Importance of prayer and the requirement to recite Surah Fatiha in it

      Surah Fatiha is the first Surah (Chapter) of the Quran. Allah (SWT) placed it at the very beginning of the Quran because of a great divine wisdom. Muslims recite it in every Rakah (a part) of the Salah (prayer). Every Muslim recites it at least 17 times (compulsory units of prayer) a day. If you add to this the twelve voluntary units of prayer its recitation is 29 times every day.  If you add a minimum one unit of Witr prayer it becomes 30 times. 

      Many recite it without appreciating the meaning. Its recitation has, thus, become a ritual. Learning this Surah will help us develop Khushu (the presence of heart in the Salah).  If a person understands the meanings of Surat Al-Fatiha he won’t be easily distracted in the Salah. 

      Salah is a crucial part of our relationship with Allah (SWT). Hence, we must strive to improve our Salah. Understanding of Surah Fatiha will beautify our Salah.
