Chapter 1:
The first time I saw, I didn’t know what was going on. I opened my eyes, and light attacked me. What was this? I was finding a sense that I didn’t know I had. Soon after, my ears began to open. In the next couple of weeks, my senses developed more fully, and eventually, my siblings and I were able to fully observe to world around us. The problem was, there wasn’t much of a world around us to explore. We were stuck in our den, and Mom sure wasn’t letting us out. Every time we tried to leave, she’d growl at us, pick us up by our scruff, and drag us back in.
But Mom,
we’d always protest. Why can’t we go outside?
Her response was always the same. It’s too dangerous.
Fortunately, since she still had to go out to find food, we were able to escape for brief
