About this ebook
It’s not easy being a teen demi-god especially for Josh Michaels. Everything from his mood, straight down to the very words that cross his lips, seem to have an effect on the reality unfolding around him. Things have gotten so out of hand lately, even his own mother gets nervous around him. That’s why he’s relieved to find that he’s moving to his grandparents in Massachusetts for a fresh start. When he gets there though, he realizes a lot has changed since his last visit. His childhood friend Charlie is on so many mood stabilizers it’s a wonder he can function at all.
It almost looks as if their freshmen year at Milton High may be a bust until Charlie catches footage of a fellow classmate Dianna Imperial miraculously healing someone. The resulting media frenzy sweeps the globe catching the attention of the highest echelons of both heaven and hell. As their immortal spies converge on Milton to infiltrate the school and recruit Dianna at any cost, they all have a similar question in mind.
Will Josh’s emerging feelings for Dianna create a virtual paradise or more likely will his nerves get the better of him, transforming Earth into a reflection of Dante’s Inferno? In short, love may conquer all but it’s never collided with a teen quite like Josh.
Arlen Beech
Arlen Beech was born in the Silicon Valley and raised on a healthy diet of Sci-Fi, Fantasy and Comics. During his decades long career as a paramedic he has been in nearly every tight situation imaginable, including, delivering a baby in a dark alleyway, being shot at and nearly stabbed in the neck. Despite this, he never really knew fear until he witnessed the opioid pandemic unfolding. Having worked two years on a psychiatric ambulance that catered to teen runaways and high-risk suicide cases, Arlen could see trouble on the horizon. His response was, “The Prime Trilogy,” a series that follows the exploits of a fifteen-year old demi-god named Josh who starts self-medicating with painkillers after his reality warping power takes a dark turn. The narrative is shared by his love interest Dianna, who will do anything to get him through rehab, even if it means having to save the universe by herself.Set in an alternate universe, The Prime Trilogy is a gritty, albeit comedic coming of age tale that poses a serious question, “Could the greatest heroes from inspired texts and world mythology, even begin to fill the shoes of a modern teen?”
