    The Magic Carpet

As Brian walked past the old antique shop he saw the miniature carpet in the window. It was about one foot square with an intricate pattern of red and blue shapes. He realised at once that it would fit perfectly in Lindy’s dolls house. An ideal Christmas present for his 10 year old daughter. He wrapped it in Christmas wrapping paper in the shape of a cracker and placed it under the tree with all the other presents.

Come Christmas morning Lindy opened her presents and was delighted with her carpet. After breakfast she went upstairs to her room and opened the front of her dolls house. The carpet would fit into the lounge and so she took out all the furniture and placed the carpet in a central position. She then replaced the furniture.

After lunch she decided to go upstairs and play with her dolls house. As she entered the room she heard quiet talking coming from inside the house. As she opened the front there were her two dolls Mr and Mrs Mander standing on the lounge carpet talking away. They stopped and looked at Lindy in amazement.

    Hello said Lindy"

Hello said Mr Mander What’s your name?
