      Thursday, October 1st

      Nothing important happened today, which is hardly surprising seeing I can’t even remember the last time something significant took place in my life. Okay, I guess there was one surprise, but it was not exactly a good one... I can’t believe it’s October already! Where did Time go and why wasn't I told about it? Sometimes, try as I may, I get the feeling I’m doomed to watch the world carry on without me. It used to bother me, it really did, but nowadays... well... only when I’m feeling simply blue, kind of like what is happening right now, do I let it get to me. Perhaps, in a couple of years, I will look back at this journal entry and laugh out loud at my foolishness. Or perhaps, I will be dead and buried in the cemetery right around the corner. Who knows, really? Whatever the case, until then, I will just keep on writing.

      Friday, October 2nd

      Nothing important happened today... again. At least, nothing that can’t be considered routine by now. Once again, I started hearing rumors at the office that a couple of positions will be made redundant next semester and yes, it seems I’m one of the few in imminent danger of getting axed. The problem with this whole shenanigan is that I heard it all before last year and the year before that one, to no practical effect. I’m not going to say it can’t happen, but the truth is I’m not really worried about it.

      Around lunch time, my brother Peter stopped by with the same goofy plastered smile that has become his trademark. He was anxious to share with me all the kinky stuff his virtual Mistress had him do during the week even though I told him a million times I’m not interested in that kind of information. God, I wish he would take a good look at himself in the mirror and realize how much of an ass he looks like when he goes around following e-mail and text instructions from a woman all way across the globe that could very well not be a woman after all! Oh well, he is still my brother and I love him, but I will never understand this whole BDSM nonsense, that is for sure!

      Anyway, after he was gone, the day lingered on and on and on and on... I stayed in until late to finish up a project and now that I’m finally home, I’m too tired to think of anything else so off to bed and,
