    Do You - Greg Hightower

    INTRODUCTION

Life does not come with a roadmap. You will go through things in life that you will have no control over, yet, those circumstances will have a rigorous impact on you. There are also things that you will go through that you can control but may not realize it.

This book is dedicated to my son Gavin, and all human beings who have lived on this earth. Everyone will go through things in life. More importantly, so many people are afraid to be themselves while living. A person’s mental state amidst the rigors of life is often overshadowed by a person’s actions, leaving people confused with so many unanswered questions while suffering in silence.

In these chapters, I will have a conversation with my son about love, lost dreams, and happiness. He is not old enough yet to comprehend the language I am speaking. You never know when it is your time to depart this earth.

So, I write this book with hopes of leaving him something to revert to when he is older if I am not around. So, buckle up as I help guide my son through this thing we call life.

Don’t be afraid to fail. Be devastated for not trying.

    LOST DREAMS

People often dream, but dreams are often lost with words, leaving not only doubt but regret and deep sorrow. There is also a sense of sadness and emptiness left in the heart with memories of what could have been, leaving you struggling with decisions that you have made up until this point in your life.

Everyone strives to accomplish or be something, but most people often make a crucial mistake. I too, son, have made this mistake before. Let me explain. I have spent days dreaming only to face many sleepless nights, occupied with that one big dream I always wanted to accomplish while fearing what others may say or think.

Eventually, I put my foot down and decided that I really want to do this. Hopeful, I shared my idea with a close friend. Not just a close friend, but family members and others that I admired or looked up to. The feedback I received from them was all doubt and negativity—telling me how it is not a good idea and it simply will not work.
