To Louise Mita, without whom my life could not have catapulted to these heights. You offered me the tools to open the Pandora’s box of my soul and do some major spring cleaning. In the process of clearing out antiquated beliefs, mysterious misconceptions, and a bevy of psychic dust bunnies, these sacred secrets were uncovered. Mahalo ke akua …
To my children, Bud, Déja, Amira, Alana, and Jordan: You (and your families) are the reason why this work is so important to me. I can only imagine how awkward it must be to have a mother who is an unconventional healer, converses with invisible beings, and can make magic happen with the snap of her fingers. Thank you for your undying support of my epic weirdness! I love you to the moon and beyond.
Special thanks to Teri Vereb, whose spiritually inspired cover art, including the stunning and magical Goddess Ilona, is a testament to the gifts and talents of this amazing artist, a tribute to our infinite lifetimes as soul sisters, and a commitment to the promulgation of sacred secrets everywhere.
Mahalo nui loa to Andrea Smith for her heartfelt introduction (see Foreword), her eternal friendship, her visionary art, and her ancient wisdom. My heart is full, knowing that there is so much joy to share, as we travel to the ends of the Earth, igniting one heart at a time in our quest for peace.
FOREWORD
Andrea Smith, Artist/Visionary/Activist for Peace
I have known Nani Lawrence for thirty-six years. She was a gorgeous young woman with a cascade of dark curls down her brown, tanned back when I first met her on Maui in 1982, and she always had one of her blonde babies hanging on her hip. They were all beautiful and looked like locals. Nani had a calming presence – her voice was soft and wise. I felt very connected to her from the moment I met her and was inspired to create an angelic painting about her daughter, Amira.
I was busy with my career and family, and she had her hands full. Over time, we lost touch. That is, until social media allowed us to reconnect years later when we were both more available. I fell in love with Nani all over again! This Nani is a very wise, assured and grown woman! Her entire being is filled with grace.
After nearly thirty years, we reunited in-person in Egypt! My husband and I take groups to various power spots on the planet, and Nani joined us on such a trip in 2017. In front of me was a beautiful woman who had blossomed into a loving sage! All her trials and tribulations had transformed her into a being of light!
We can either hold onto our hurts or grow from them. When we let go, we are rewarded with incredible gifts and blessings that are hard to imagine unless we do it. Well, she has gone through the fire and come out purified. She has faced herself, gone within, and seen only the love. In reality, that is who she always was, but she is such a love-filled being, it probably took time and five children to really embrace it.
Sacred Secrets is a very personal story of what growth, determination, and destiny can accomplish. I think often about someone like Nani in the nursing profession,
