Pedro Leon Jr. was born on September 6th 1956 to Gloria and Pedro Leon in Brawley California. He was raised in the Imperial Valley and in Tulare Co. He has 4 siblings and 17 step brother's and sisters; 3 kids - Daniel, Anthony and Nancy Leon; 8 grandkids and 3 step kids and 13 step grandkids. Pedro graduated from Calipatria High School in 1974. He joined the U.S. Marines from 1974-1978 stationed in Kaneohe Bay in Hawaii. He retired as an ICE Agent in 2006. And full time snow bird.

    It was early June 2019, and it was time to say goodbye to our loved ones and friends. The heat got up to 120 degrees in the summer here in the Imperial Valley. You would think that my wife and I would be used to the heat, especially since we were raised here. And I was a retired ICE agent who had been stationed in El Centro, California. Wrong! I got used to the air-conditioned life, which I loved. My wife and I had lived in a motor home for the past four years. We stayed at Rio Bend Golf and Resort for the winter and left for the summer. I guess we could be called snowbirds now. We loved it. Wherever we parked, we called it home. This year, we took the I-8 to Gila Bend in Arizona. We stayed at a local RV park, where we met a young man who liked to hunt rattlesnakes for a hobby. He made hats and belts out of their skins. Nice hobby, I thought.

    After we left Gila Bend, we headed out to Tombstone, Arizona. We stayed for a few days and enjoyed watching the shootouts in the middle of the street. We also enjoyed the souvenir stores; so much to buy and so little money. After a few days there, we went to El Paso, Texas, just to rest up and relax. Then we headed out to Carlsbad, New Mexico. We made reservations for a month there.

    There was lots to see and do in Carlsbad. We loved going to Pecos Beach and enjoyed the crystal-clear water. I enjoyed fishing there at the river also. We also went to the
