      We Need God!

      We need God in every breath we take.

      We need God in every decision we make.

      Introduction: We Need God!

      Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; thou anointest my head with oil, my cup runneth over.

      —Psalm 23:5

      Once again taking the pen of a ready writer for the Lord, the Holy Spirit led me to write this second book, We Need God. Looking back, I realize that God has spared my life many times, especially years ago when I was rushed to the hospital in Ogden with my first heart attack.

      When in the hospital, having an open heart surgery and a four-way bypass with only my husband in the room, I sat up and prophesied, God is going to use everyone in this last revival!

      Then in the next week, I did the same thing with the same message and fell back asleep.

      While putting the final touch on the first book, It’s Not Religion—It’s Life, this past April, I was in that same hospital with a second heart attack even on my seventy-sixth birthday.

      My husband never left my side. Once again, through perseverance and determination with faith in God and in his Word, I miraculously made it through. With God giving the anointing and the physical strength to my weak heart, this second book was finished.

      The enemy (the devil) fought every step of the way, but victory prevailed and will in Jesus’s mighty name.

      Wisdom’s Corner

      To know him is to love him—the Lord, that is.

      The Church—the Bride

      The church is the bride. Jesus is the groom.

      Who is the church? The church is the believers. Who are the believers? Those who are saved and believe in Jesus and his Word. Jesus is the Word sent to us sinners so as to take the place for our sins, even though he was innocent and sin-free.

      In the Old Testament, in the old covenant, the Lamb that was slain was chosen because it was without a spot—in other words, perfect. In the New Testament, in the new covenant, our Lord and Savior had to be sin-free, perfect. Who could fit that description? Nobody here on earth. So God the Father sent us his only Son, Jesus, who took our place.

      Here is a question. Could the Heavenly Father have picked you? Could you as a pastor innocently stand in your place? Could you sustain the glory? So you see, our Heavenly Father had to send his only Son.

      What if Jesus refused, saying, No, Father. I’m not going. Send somebody else. That’s too hard for me. But he didn’t, and aren’t we glad? Praise you, Jesus!

      Jesus wept bloody tears the night the soldiers came to pick him up. Peter pulled out his sword and cut off the ear of one of the soldiers, but Jesus picked it up and put it back on, restoring it perfectly. Jesus, our Savior, despite knowing what lay ahead, surrendered
