Helen Ketteman is the author of more than nineteen picture books. She writes for children ranging from preschool through fourth or fifth grade, and especially enjoys telling fractured fairy tales. Helen earned her Associate of Arts degree from Young Harris College in Young Harris, GA, and her B.A. degree in English from Georgia State University in Atlanta.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5A Mexican version of Gingerbread man. It has a lot of colorful language and includes spanish words, including a glossary of the spanish at the end. It also has a recipe for the Gordita. This book gives lots of examples of words for the gordita getting away and introduces animal names in Spanish in a way that is easy to infer. I like the story and it would fun to have students compare it to the Gingerbread man version.
