Might say life changed the day I died.
Can’t say I saw it coming, but as I breathed my last, I came to terms with it. A bright light warmed me as I floated above my body. A pang of regret shot through my conscience as rivers of blood slid from three bullet holes in my chest, turning the white shirt I wore crimson. The regret grew when a woman raced towards my prone body, pressing her hands and jacket to the wounds, holding the precious blood inside that sack of meat and bones.
The light that beckoned me with gentle love stopped calling. I hovered there between life and death—not wanting to go back, but unable to move on. Paramedics arrived on the scene in record time and coaxed my body back to life. An undesired miracle.
What happens to a man once he knows God is real? That if a stranger had gone left instead of right, I’d have bled out in an alley crammed with filth and joined Him
