LETTER FROM THE PBS
It is lovely that Ilya Kaminsky, who read at the Newcastle Poetry Festival last year, is our Summer Choice with Deaf Republic, and we’re delighted that Deryn Rees-Jones and Seán Hewitt, who will be taking part in this year’s festival have also been included in the selections. The Summer Bulletin will just be landing as the festival and our Northern Poetry Symposium take place, so we hope to meet or have met some of you there!
A reminder that we have PBS Guest Selector Andrew McMillan standing in for Vidyan Ravinthiran in this Bulletin edition, and congratulations to Vidyan for his Recommendation selection. The poets in this Bulletin all write from completely different perspectives with a huge range of experience. We really hope you enjoy the features and are inspired to use your 25% membership discount to purchase their books.
We always love to hear our members’ views on the latest selections and have launched a virtual poetry book club so you can discuss your favourites on social media using the hashtag #pbsonlinebookclub on Twitter @PoetryBookSoc. We also have a new bookclub discount rate, so if you’d like to start your own local poetry book club using the PBS Selections then do get in touch and we’ll be happy to share the details with other members in your area. You can also check out our Vlogger in Residence Jen Campbell’s latest video reviews on our website.
